Kay's Kakes

Well lets do what everyone else seems to be doing an do a blog. It took me a while to even know what one meant lol.

Well I have had a really busy week and weekend, I started last week carving melons into flowers along with various vegetables. Then moved onto Cup cakes Photo's of the bride and groom along with in the night garden characters and fondant bride and groom ones dusted with lustre dust.

Then on Friday morning i got an urgent tex from friend who needed a cake by that night so inbetween carving melons into swans and dipping strawberries into chocolate to make them into brides and grooms I made a 3 tier princess for the day cake which my camera has lost all the pics for well annoyed going to google it later to see if i can restore them.
Vicky the young lady who commisioned the cake collected it at 9pm and was really pleased with it, unfortunately some idiot pulled out in front of her on the way home and the princess lost the back of her throne and some hair,, this is the problem when things are not allowed drying time.

It ended on Saturday with me getting up at 5am to make a new throne back, and some royal icing cocktail sticks etc to give to vicky so she could mend the princess cake. Then onto the wedding reception for the mighty task at 10am. The canapes and evening buffet with hot food served in chafing units.

It was a huge success thanks to my little team hubby (head Chef) and his son Joe who was our kitchen porter bless him. It was a bit of a nightmare as the kitchen was in the basement and the hall on the ground floor so joe was up and down like a yo yo.

We finally got home about 10pm and after a shower got into bed exhausted.

and now today I have got up at 7am as got to make a bible cake for a 30th wedding anniversary
one half fruit the other half vanilla and chocolate marble cake yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
